Of all the 3, I personally like Light Roasted Tieguanyin best. It gave me the right amount of floral aroma and at the same time not over powering in taste.

My Review

Do you love to eat durian and cakes? Then the combination of both is the best choice to enjoy.

Recently, my family and I tried classic MSW durian cake and snowy D24 durian mochi from The Durian Bakery. This is not the first time that tried durian cakes and pastries from The Durian Bakery. Few years back, I have tried their MSW durian mille crepe cake. It taste really delicious.

The order came on time. It came at the first hour within the stated time period.

Order came pack nicely.

The cake came with accessories such a
metal knife, gold candles and large birthday topper

One thing I notice is that both the cake and mochi do not come with heavy durian smell. There is only very light durian smell when I cut open the cake.

Snowy D24 Durian Mochi

The mochi came sealed in a tray of 6 pieces with long expiry date. But I am sure it will be gone in minutes after opening. 😅
Came sealed.

Came in tray of 6 pieces.

The mochi itself touches soft and bouncy.

I randomly measured each pieces of mochi, they are size around 3.5cm to 4cm in diameter each.

Touches soft and bouncy.

The skin is really thin and filled full of D24 durian puree.

When I pop one into my mouth, the skin melt in my mouth and the rich creamy durian puree filled my whole mouth.

Absolutely delicious!

This
classic MSW durian cake came boxed and sealed with a plastic around the cake.

It is very well decorated. Simple and beautiful.
Decorated beautifully.

The topping is filled with shaved premium unsweetened Belgium white chocolate. Although unsweetened, it is still slightly sweet if I taste just the chocolate individually.
Topped with shaved premium Belgium white chocolate.

The cake is covered with Hokkaido fresh whipped cream. I am not a person who like my cake heavily cream.
But there is only a very thin layer covering this cake and it is absolutely not sweet. Taste really good.

The vanilla cake itself taste soft and not sweet at all.
Vanilla cake soft and not sweet.

The MSW durian inside the cake taste delicious. Very strong sweet creamy taste. Just like I am eating fresh durian. But it will be better if the MSW durian inside can taste bitter sweet instead of full sweet.
Very strong sweet creamy taste.

I must say, the ratio of each part, from topping to cream to cake and durian, blended very well together. The cake taste so delicious when eaten all together, covering each other's flaws. Totally not jelak (means not tired / overwhelm) when eaten a lot.

It's a job well done for the team for balancing the sweetness of the cake and using unsweetened for other parts of the cake as the durian itself is sweet enough.

My family and I absolutely enjoy the cake.

Overall, the MSW durian cake and mochi taste full of durian that is not so sweet. They are delicious and fresh with good quality.

My Review

I am a tea lover. I love to drink tea especially during tea break and relaxing weekends. Drinking tea not only relax my mind, it helps to keep me healthy and sometime resolve some problems such as stomach bloated, heatiness, throat irritation, etc.

There are lots of varieties of tea for everyone to explore. Recently, I came across this very interesting tea from iTeaworld call Ya Shi Xiang Oolong Tea.

Ya Shi Xiang Oolong Tea.

If you are not aware,
Ya Shi Xiang translate to duck shit fragrance. The first time I see this name, it got me curious. How does the tea relate to duck shit? Will it smell like one?

I did a search online on why this tea is called Ya Shi Xiang. Long story short, it's the way farmers used to protect this precious tea from being exploited by others.

The name of the tea first caught my attention. After checking the many benefits of this tea such as stress relief, anti oxidants, anti inflammation, immune booster and etc, I decided to give it a try.

The tea came in a paper box which is easy to tear open.

Came in a paper box.

What is inside the box.

There are total 3 different seasons of Ya Shi Xiang Oolong Tea, spring, autumn and winter.

3 seasons of tea.

Each packed in a 20g zip lock bag for easy storage.

Packed in a zip lock bag.

I love it that each tea came labeled with information of the tea as well as how to brew the tea. This helps a lot for unprofessional like me to brew delicious tea easily.

Each pack came labelled with information.

Each season of tea here I used 1.5g of tea leaves with around 150ml of water steep for 3mins.

I used 1.5g of tea leaves each.

Let's check out how they are so different in taste for different seasons.

Ya Shi Xiang Oolong Spring

Spring Tea.

This spring season tea leaves had a very light fragrance tea smell. So light that I can hardly smell it.

The tea had a light yellow color after brew.

There is layering of flavours for this spring season tea.

In term of taste, there is no bitter and rough (苦涩) tea taste. The tea taste light and fragrance at the beginning and the sweet taste came after a while. The tea fragrance also will linger in my mouth after drinking. There is layering of flavours for this spring season tea.

Ya Shi Xiang Oolong Autumn

Autumn Tea.

This autumn season tea leaves had a strong roasted tea leaves aroma. The smell is thick and strong but less fragrance.

The tea had a darker yellow brown color after brew.

Ya Shi Xiang Oolong Winter

Winter Tea.

This winter season tea leaves had a nice fragrance tea smell. The smell is just right with no roasted tea smell.
Nice fragrance tea smell.

The tea had a very light yellow color after brew.

It gave off a very nice tea fragrance aroma.

In term of taste, it gave off a very nice tea fragrance aroma. The tea taste sweet right from the beginning but it does not linger in my mouth after drinking and leave my throat a little dry. No layering of flavours as compare to spring season tea.

In Comparison

I can see different in color for the 3 seasons tea, with winter having the lightest color and autumn having the darkest color.

Comparing tea color.

Winter have the most fragrance smell with spring having the least. Although autumn have the thickest smell but not so in term of fragrance.

All 3 seasons does not taste bitter nor rough. No much different from looking at the tea leaves.

Compare tea leaves before brew.

Compare tea leaves after brew.

Winter had the lightest but most fragrance tea taste, autumn tea taste thicker and spring tea taste in between winter and autumn with more layering to it.

One thing I notice is that the tea taste as nice when left in room temperature.

For me, I love spring tea most as the tea had a more layering flavours as compare to the other two. But my mum love the thickness of the taste from autumn tea and my brother love the no after taste from winter tea.

Overall, this is an interesting and nice tea to drink. This is also a good choice of tea for tea beginners to start tea tasting (especially winter tea) because of how smooth the tea taste and the lack of usual bitter
(苦涩) tea after taste.
